kargilNew Delhi, Tuesday, July 26 – On the 17th anniversary of Kargil Vijay Diwas, tributes poured in from various parts of the nation. It is the day that makes every Indian proud as on July 26, 1999, the brave Indian soldiers were successful in taking control over the outposts that were far above the ground and had been lost to intruder from Pakistan. In order to pay tribute to the heroes of Kargil conflict, Operation Vijay is celebrated.

Kargil Vijay Diwas make patriotic feelings grip over the countrymen. Visuals of the war and the heroic stories of the jawans add to the patriotism. Soldiers are really from different world. The common man can never match the sacrifices they do to serve the nation, leaving their homes, families and friends far behind. Wars do no good except creating bloodbath. 527 soldiers lost their lives during the war whereas 1,363 received injuries.

It was a difficult task to win in a high-altitude combat in mountainous terrain for the Indian Army. The victory can’t be complete without the roles of Indian Air Force. Naval actions were of huge significance too. The number of causalities on the Indian side is sufficient to tell how our soldiers did their bit to send Pak on the back foot, without being scared of losing their lives. The sacrifices made by them will be remember for generations to come.

Soldiers are the one who think about their country first before themselves. It is thanks to them, people are able to enjoy undisturbed sleep with no worry every night. Social media sites remained flooded with photographs of Kargil war. A two-minute silence was observed in various educational institutes. Tales of the soldiers during the war are needed to be shared with kids to let them be familiar with most of the events occurred at that point of time and have a high regard for what soldiers did in such a tough situation. People from different walks of life gave tributes to the martyrs in their own way to remember our warriors who laid their lives at a very young age to keep the nation safe.
