cricketerNew Delhi, Wednesday, September 14 – Australia tour of Sri Lanka lately came to an end. T20, Test and One-Day International matches between the two cricket playing countries which lasted for around one and a half months entertained cricket fans to a great extent with up and down of both sides. In spite of the fact that Australians were taken by surprise on their recently concluded tour as they lost in the longest format, supporters enjoyed this sport thanks to the unpredictability of the game.

Excitement in the last few overs goes up and viewers can easily be seen often folding their hands to pray for the success of their favourite squad, who may win with awesome show in the last part or even lose by making few mistakes while fielding, batting and bowling. Bowlers are key to success in more than a few matches, especially when batting line-up of the team fails to put a challenging total on the scoreboard. If batting collapses, the job gets done easily by the rivals to a certain extent. India’s bowling attack stunned West Indies in the Test series held from July 21 to August 22.

Some great performances by Indian bowlers made India log wins whenever possible. But they lost against the same team in T20 series. Pressure was certainly on the powerhouses in the final over and ball. Indian skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni missed a chance to place the ball in the gap and gave his catch when India were just a run away from tasting the victory in the nail-biting match. Indians in the second T20 gave jolts to the West Indies team who won the T20 World Cup held early this year. West Indies sealed the 2-match T20 series 1-0 after rain played spoilsport in game two. Indian players eyed a win to avoid possibility of losing 20-20 over match series but unpredictability of weather did not let them do so.

With recent conclusion of Pakistan and England series, fans eye entertainment through upcoming tournaments among different teams that are to start in a few days. They hope to see amazing exhibition of performances from both experienced and inexperienced teams in different formats, which add to fun due to different sort of unpredictability. The Men in Blue and Kiwis are to confront each other in 5-match One-Day International series and 3-match Test series.  The squad for Test has recently been announced. Virat Kohli will lead Indian side, which has Shikhar Dhawan, Lokesh Rahul, Cheteshwar Pujara, Murali Vijay, Rohit Sharma, Ravichandran Ashwin, Ajinkya Rahane, Wriddhiman Saha, Ravindra Jadeja, Mohammed Shami, Ishant Sharma, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Amit Mishra and Umesh Yadav.

Kane Williamson – led group will hope for improvement in their show having Trent players like Boult, Doug Bracewell, Martin Guptill, Tom Latham, Mark Craig, James Neesham, Luke Ronchi, Mitchell Santner, Ish Sodhi, Tim Southee, Ross Taylor, Neil Wagner, BJ Watling and Henry Nicholls. Indian are to impart their roles as a host. Climate conditions are a mix of hot and soothing in the country due to sun and rain in different parts of the country. This may or may not bother Kiwis, who are anticipated to make sure they rise for better in upcoming and future contests. Since interesting tournaments are to begin soon, arrangements are to be done to make these truly a grand affair.

Playing XIs are all set to hone their skills, which are to make difference on the field no matter they set the target and defend the same or chase a big, small, modest or challenging total. Cricket fans can’t afford missing the action by any means. It wouldn’t be surprising to see if stadiums, where matches are to take place, get jam-packed even on a working day. After all, cricket is a sport that brings several people under one roof. In India, people eat, drink and sleep cricket. The entertaining series on Indian turf in the near term is to give audience watch some outstanding show on the field. In view of the fact that both India and New Zealand being strong in various formats, it is sure the audience is going to witness classy performances as improving the records will be eyed. Confidence of Kiwis is not going to be any low as they look forward to beating India on the Indian soil in Test series which is slated to take place between September 22 and Oct 12.

Besides them, Australian cricketers and South African players will contend in 5-match ODI series to be held at SuperSport Park in Centurion, New Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg, Kingsmead in Durban, St George’s Park in Port Elizabeth and Newlands in Cape Town from September 30 to October 12. Afghanistan and Bangladesh are set to contest in three ODIs, which are to take place at Shere Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka. Challenges are no less for Bangladesh as well and they are likely not to consider their opponents an underdog team. Focus of both sides will be on to pick right combination of batsmen, bowlers and all-rounders to put each other on the back foot. A few thought that overdose of cricket during World Cup this year will distract fans from Indian premier League but nothing happened as such. People love getting entertained and this is the reason why stadiums of the country are noisy as compared to other nations. Let us wait and watch what Indian team got to display in the upcoming contests against New Zealand soon.
